When I was younger, I was completely obsessed with stuffed plush toys of all sorts. Cartoon characters or random ones that were won at the carnival, I had them all. Now I’m in my 30’s and I’m still a fan.
There’s an undying devotion I have to collecting stuffed animals and toys. If you’re like me, I think you should check out the wide selection of teddy bears and stuffed animals that are now available online. There is such a wide selection that you can literally find any animal that you want.
Collecting stuffed animals is a memorable part of everyone’s childhood. These soft and plush friends provide comfort and companionship for children of all ages. Plus, they come in a variety of barnyard, jungle and exotic animals. They’re a guaranteed source of entertainment for your children.
I remember I grew up during the Beanie Baby craze. They were so popular that many toy stores were sold out of them on a regular basis. My most prized Beanie Baby – wish could be considered a variety of collectable teddy bears – was the Princess Diana bear. A deep purple stuffed animal with a white flower on its chest and a ribbon around its neck, this bear sat in a clear display case on a shelf in my bedroom for years. It was much too important to play with, but instead served as a prized possession.

When it comes to collecting, it’s often more common for boys to be active collectors than it is for girls. Boys collectibles range from baseball cards to matchbox cars, but it’s not right that boys alone should be able to appreciate collectibles at a young age. Girls too can enjoy collecting as a hobby. Though collectibles for girls aren’t as common as those for boys, a few examples might include collectible teddy bears, porcelain dolls, and seashells.
My daughter collects teddy bears, and it’s a great hobby for her to share with her friends. The thing about teddy bears is they’ve been around so long, virtually any teddy can become a collectible. Unlike something more targeted like baseball cards, my daughter learns to appreciate teddy bears of different styles and even from different countries. It’s a great feeling knowing that her hobby is also contributing to her interest in foreign culture!
